"This museum is housed in a villa that is typical of the era when Moutier was developing as an industrial center at the start of the 20th century, with a superb modern wing built of concrete; it hosts numerous exhibitions which are as interesting as they are varied. The setting is magnificent, and I was particularly struck by the perfect harmony of contrasts between classical and contemporary architecture. Definitely a place to visit often, because each new exhibition casts the museum in a different light."

  • The Jura Museum of Arts owes its existence to a group of enthusiasts, the Club Jurassien des Arts. Established at Moutier in 1953 by printer and publisher Max Robert, the Club Jurassien des Arts has been staging exhibitions since 1955. From the very outset, these events have showcased the contemporary art of the Jura region. Their aim is to assist and encourage regional artists, and the Museum has continued this tradition right down to the present day.
