700th anniversary of La Neuveville

In 2012 the medieval town at the lake of Bienne will celebrate its 700th anniversary. For this occasion, a large number of cultural and festive events are being organized. 

The festivities will take place during all of 2012. The organizing committees will enhance the planned events with some surprises to make sure that this 700 year celebration will be a splendid festival for each and everyone. The cultural program promises to be rich and varied. Several works on the foundation of the town and its inhabitants will be published, and the heart of the old town will stage a theater play. 

There will be conferences and symposia where specialists can discuss the history of La Neuveville as well as its geographic and viticultural peculiarities. The official part will certainly evoke great emotions with a unique festive event. 

La Neuveville is looking forward to celebrating this important historic moment together with its inhabitants, and hopefully with many visitors from Switzerland and abroad.
